Currently addresses the issue that the functionality of vital monitoring ECG cables use in EMS and hospital settings is not currently monitored, meaning cables often break without warning while in use. We have developed a cable accessory to monitor the stress endured by ECG cables through the use of a mimicking wire that is engineered to fail before the cable. Therefore, clinical users know that their cables are nearing the end of their lifespan when the mimicking wire breaks and can replace their worn out cables before failure occurs during treatment.
